The Education Portal, a podcast by Tabor Academy and hosted by Laura Burgess, is a place for good conversation and valuable insight about preparing for high school. Tabor Academy is a boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 in southeastern Massachusetts. Got questions about what high school is like, how to prepare effectively, and what factors you should consider as you evaluate your high school options? Curious what it's like to make the transition to high school, or from public to private school, or to boarding school? We've got students, teachers, and notable thought-leaders in education here to share their knowledge with you. Laura Burgess

Laura has worked in boarding school admissions since 2006 and loves sharing the boarding school experience with prospective families. Five generations of her family have attended boarding schools throughout New England. She is a frequent presenter at programs and industry conferences on topics ranging from the value of boarding schools to the empowerment of teen girls to women in the boarding school industry.

In addition to being the Director of Admissions Marketing at Tabor Academy, Laura is also an advisor, dorm parent, faculty Global Partner, and coach.
